Alaska Family Cruise

By Craig Wilson

A Cruise around Alaska can be an amazing experience that parents can easily share with their children. Not only will a visit to Alaska provide your children with a great holiday but also an educational experience on the weather, glaciers, marine life and general wildlife in the many vast areas of natural habitat that Alaska has to offer.

As with most destinations Alaska is no different in offering a great selection of on-board activities. Adults with children need not worry about missing the things they want to do as the children also have the option to take part in activities of their own. This gives everyone the chance to do what they want and everyone is happy.

Camp Carnival is available for children on the Carnival Cruise ships. This offers children from the ages of 2-15 the chance to enjoy a range of activities to keep them entertained while you enjoy some of the more adult aspects of your cruise. Camp Carnival is a free service offered by Carnival Cruise lines as part of your cruise. There is also a baby sitting service for a small additional charge in the evenings.

Children aged between 2 and 17 years old can join the Kid's crew on the Norwegian Cruise Lines cruise ships. Each child can enjoy activities appropriate to their age whilst you are then free to relax and enjoy the things that you want to do.

Children's activities include storytelling and magic shows for the younger children and older children can learn to cook or go on a treasure hunt around the ship or ashore whilst you are on an excursion. Teenagers can enjoy special dances and have access to video games. There are other activities available, simply check with the Norwegian Cruise Lines brochure.

Princess cruise lines also have their own kid's club, which also offers educational activities as well as television time so the children can enjoy some cartoons. There is also the opportunity to let the children eat with their new friends at the special children only dinners. This will leave you free to enjoy a quiet meal knowing that your children are having a great time as well. Princess cruise lines also offer a sitter service in the evening so you can enjoy the evening entertainment whilst the kids are asleep.

With Royal Caribbean children can join the Adventure Ocean program and take part in the great activities on offer. Children are placed in groups depending on their age so they can take part in activities best suited for their age group. While the kids play so can you or you can join in the family activities. Royal Caribbean Adventure Ocean Clubs are for children ages between 3 years old and 17 tears old.

If it was not for the different children's clubs your vacation in Alaska could become a nightmare. If the children are happy the adults are happy as they are able to do the things they want. So if you are planning on taking a cruise around Alaska make sure the cruise ship has a kids club. - 29868
