Here, I will outline some of the most common myths associated with the popular European cruises sailing along the rivers and offering services to guest travellers.

The first and likely the most commonly identified myth is the occurence of seasickness. It is a fact that there are instances of this occurring to some. However, the barges, cruises, and boats travelling in the waterways of Europe are now structured to be perfectly stable when it comes to design. In effect, this rarely occurs. Speaking of health conditions, another myth surrounds the "Norwalk Virus". More often, people will hear about illness outbreaks on cruise ships. Each comes down with a stomach virus and it is presumed that the food is toxic or there is something onboard causing it. The truth is, when people come in mass, spread of viruses may be inevitable. If you take precautions like washing your hands on a frequent basis, and avoid sharing eating and drinking utensils, you will likely never contract any ailment on a European river cruise.

Many people have a great concern that cruise ships are comparatively unsafe means of transportation. They are frightened that they may sink, or that the ship will may become a target of pirates or bad elements and other similar security threats.

The truth is, statistics shows that European river cruises are among the safest tours worldwide. If something happens, they are close to land and help may be sought now. , the statistics is very low.
