Bellagio, The Hotel Of Las Vegas

By Chris Linch

Opening on October 15,'98, Bellagio is one of the most dramatic and awe-inspiring resorts on the Las Vegas Strip. It is an AAA Five Diamond award winning hotel and features an eight-acre lake located between the hotel and the strip. The design was inspired by the Lake Como resort of Bellagio in Italy.

Within walking distance from the Mirage, the Imperial Palace, Harrah's, and more, it was built by Las Vegas casino magnate Steve Wynne and later sold to MGM Mirage. It occupies the lot previously home to the Dunes hotel, the corner of Las Vegas Blvd. and Flamingo Dr. It neighbor's Ceasar's Palace, Bally's, and Paris Las Vegas directly across the strip.

Covering the ceiling of the lobby are 2000 beautiful, colorful, glass flowers that were hand blown for the hotel. They are simply stunning to look at, and always create a fine first impression.

If you are looking to see a show in Las Vegas, come to the best, none other than O. In Italian, O means water, the center of the show. Performed above a pool of water 1.5 million gallons full, O features 85 acrobats and swimmers and will truly amaze you. While on your visit, also check out the world-famous fountains in Bellagio's eight acre lake. The streams of water dance to classic tunes, even at nigh!

Anyone with an artistic side absolutely must visit the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art. It features breathtaking works by Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh, and many others. If you're not an expert yet, you can take an audio tour. Also check out the conservatory and the Botanical Gardens. The flowers here change color according to season and will take your breath away.

Bask in the sun at Bellagio's spectacular pool, or try your luck at their extremely large casino. Relax at the world class spa, dance the night away at several nightclubs, and dine at over 20 restaurants. All of this centers around the spectacular pool, where you can work at your tan. - 29868
