Settling On A Family Vacation Destination

By Jamison Findley

Every summer I take the family on a vacation to a destination that everyone can agree on. One year we went to Disneyland, the next, the Grand Canyon. This year, we are all having a problem deciding on where to go. Some want to go to the beach and others want to go the mountains. I'm thinking southern California, and then you are not far from either.

I went online to try and find some good information that would help us make the decision. I came across a website that offer some great travel ideas and ordered a lot of pamphlets and brochures from them because they were all free. I got some information on places from southern California to New York City. The kids weren't interested in that one, but it was a place I thought they should see someday.

The process of ordering free travel brochures is was easy. On the site, they have a list of all 50 states to choose from. There was just three easy steps that I had to follow; 1. Pick a destination 2. Order the travel brochure and 3. Go!

There are countless possibilities in this country. I really didn't realize how much potential there was for good, family activities. There were brochures that had information on river rafting in southern Utah and finding the best ski slopes in Colorado. Basically, they had all the details we needed to start planning a great trip.

Wherever you decide to go, I'm sure that they have a travel brochure for it. I thought it was kind of fun to search different places around the country that I would have never thought to vacation. Looking through the different places, I realize that this country has a lot of hidden gems.

When the pamphlets arrived we took some time and went over them as a family. It helped us narrow down the choices, but the kids were still holding things up. They were just too set on visiting an amusement park rather than a national park.

The site had free travel pamphlets for almost any location you could imagine. It doesn't matter if you are looking for an indoor or outdoor vacation, all you have to do is log onto the site and find the pamphlets that contain all the details you need.

After getting all these brochures, though, and seeing how much potential there is around the country, it might just make the final decision a little harder. At least we can always depend on another summer coming around so we can go on many more vacations. - 29868
