Be Ready on Your Cruise Embarkation with the Tips

By David Erskine

You've been busy planning everything when you decided to go on a cruise. You've prepared all the necessary documents and packed them and got ready to go. Now it's time to go to your cruise port. You're really happy and excited to get sailing as soon as possible.

Today, we're going to look at a few tips that will help you when you need to embark on your cruise.

Tip #1 - Make sure to keep all of your documents in one safe and accessible place. This will include of course your tickets, vouchers, passport and immigration forms that came from the cruise line.

Tip #2 - Let the cruise companies make the reservations to your airlines. Why? The cruise company will handle your flight if it gets delayed. Their cruise business will be affected by the delay especially if there are many passengers on the same flight. It's not worth the trouble to do it on your own. For your own safety and peace of mind, let the cruise companies handle your reservations.

Tip #3 - One of the most effective cruise ship tips is to check out the cruise line's loyalty program for repeat passengers. Cruise embarkation can be a little confusing and disordered. Expect long lines in the check in process and there will be some tensed out passengers, so you have to relax and breathe. If you're a repeat cruiser, most of the time they will have specialized check-in areas. You can ask this one with your travel agent.

Tip #4 - Choose a very good travel agent. This tips doesn't really have to do anything about embarking but this is one of the most important tips you'll receive. Pick a travel agent who has sailed on many different cruise ships so at least you'll know that they their comments and thoughts are going to be honest and sincere. Make sure they're certified and be alert not to get convinced by agents who are getting commissions from cruise lines. You can do a pretty good research on the Internet and check out forums for reviews. - 29868
